Come and join us this Bank Holiday Monday for a boat blessing and celebration of the sea.
Gouray Church, in partnership with Gorey Boat Owners Association will be conducting a boat blessing service for Gorey and the boats who work in our local SAR. It’s happening this Monday 30th August at 11am, at the end of Gorey Pier.
We will be there, both in the water and on the pier with a few goodies you can purchase to support your local lifeboat team.
Revd Jeff Wattley will conduct a brief service on the Upper Deck, and a wreath will be released in memory of those who have lost their lives at sea.
Celebrate our boating heritage and the fabulous waters around Gorey Harbour. We will thank the organisations that help take care of us including our two Lifeboat Organisations, Harbours and Coastguard.
Boat owners might like to dress your boats with bunting/flags.
The event will comply with prevailing Covid regulations and (like all boating activities) is weather dependent.
